Aqvify at ‘World Water Week 2024’
World Water Week 2024, organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), focused on the theme “Bridging Borders: Water for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future.” This theme highlighted the importance of water cooperation for peace and security, emphasizing the interconnectedness of communities and nations globally. The event served as a platform for discussing collaborative efforts needed to achieve a peaceful and sustainable future.
Aqvify’s Participation
Aqvify was invited to participate in a high-level roundtable titled “Navigating the Waters: Accelerating Business Action Across Borders.” This event was hosted by the UN Global Compact Network Sweden and SIWI, bringing together experts, business leaders, and stakeholders to address critical water challenges. Representatives from the global coalition of the UN Global Compact, CEO Water Mandate, were also present.
Importance of Monitoring Wells
Aqvify has been instrumental in monitoring several hundred water wells across Europe and Senegal. This monitoring is crucial for understanding the scarcity and value of water resources, enabling informed decisions by companies and authorities based on factual data. The ability to monitor wells at scale, even for individuals, was discussed among executives from companies like IKEA, Coca-Cola, and Spowdi, highlighting its potential as an eye-opener for many.
Key Discussions
During the roundtable, discussions centered on the role of businesses in advancing sustainable water management. The session explored how businesses can implement sustainable water practices throughout their operations and supply chains, minimizing environmental harm while ensuring equitable access to water resources. The importance of collective action and collaboration with stakeholders across sectors and regions was emphasized as a means to address water challenges and promote sustainable water management.
Aqvify’s involvement in World Water Week 2024 underscores the significance of innovative water monitoring solutions in fostering sustainable water management. By participating in these discussions, Aqvify contributes to the global dialogue on water cooperation and the pursuit of a peaceful and sustainable future.
Aqvify was very happy to meet interesting companies and organizations for new potential projects, with the hope of contributing to the World Water Week theme in the future.
