Aqvify Sponsors Vital Charity Water Project in Senegal

Aqvify is proud to announce its sponsorship of a vital charity water project in Baghere, Senegal, in collaboration with the humanitarian organization Balouo Salo. This initiative aims to significantly improve living standards for thousands of people in the region.

The Baghere project addresses critical water quality issues that have long plagued the area, contributing to high rates of diarrhea, infant mortality, and infections. By providing Aqvify-kits, we’re enabling remote monitoring of water levels, inflow, and level alarms for the newly drilled well and water tank, ensuring efficient and sustainable water management.

Key components of the Baghere project include:

  • A new drilled well
  • Advanced water filtering system with deferrization, disinfestation and sterilization
  • Water storage tanks
  • Remote monitoring system for well and tank levels
  • Traditional meeting place infrastructure called “bantambato”
  • Lighting solar system
  • Solar system for powering the systems
  • 10 water taps for community access

This comprehensive approach will directly benefit approximately 3,500 people, with an additional 10,000 individuals indirectly benefiting from the improved water infrastructure[1]. The project located in a strategic point is accessible to many neighboring villages and aims to be a model of development, innovation and community participation in favor of the protection of human rights.

The project goes beyond mere water provision. It integrates community spaces and lighting, fostering social cohesion and safety. This holistic approach aligns with Balouo Salo’s mission to create sustainable solutions that empower communities and improve overall quality of life. The beneficiary community itself will manage the project after receiving training from Balouo salo, as the objective is also to create self-sufficiency of the populations

Aqvify’s contribution to this project demonstrates our commitment to leveraging technology for social good. By providing remote monitoring capabilities, we’re ensuring the long-term sustainability and efficiency of this vital resource.

We’re excited to see the Baghere site become fully functional soon, marking a significant step towards reducing malnutrition and infant mortality in the region. Aqvify commends Balouo Salo for their outstanding work and looks forward to the positive impact this project will have on the community of Baghere and beyond.
